ghost-light

A colourful digital illustration with a grainy texture
Miles stands against a dark background, surrounded by spirits and lit by their ghost-light. Her hair swirls about her like the ghosts do, her hands held at about chest-height as she weaves a spell. She sort of draws the spirits closer to her by magic, doing so with much energy and enthusiasm.

This time it was the prompts "half" and "illuminate" that took my fancy the most! I think illuminate is probably the one that shines through the clearest; but I did draw this using a symmetry ruler, and she was going to be more clearly half-illuminated - I just thought it ended up looking too ominous in the end. So illuminate it is! ^^'

I decided to draw Miles for this since I figured her lil ghosty pals would be an interesting light source to work with! And also because I haven't made as much art of her as I would've liked to yet :)

In particular, this piece had me thinking about her magic; what she specialises in and why, and how she would use her specific skillset in various situations. She'll definately be showing up in future comics I think!

Thanks again for having me in the zine, really looking forwards to experiencing everyone's works for issue 2!! :)
